Your Week Ahead: A compromise is called for this week. I'm sorry to have to say that. I could, I suppose dedicate the rest of this forecast to a homily for unilateralism. I could encourage you to plough on regardless. It is entirely possible that if you refused to negotiate, you would get a surprisingly long way. But not as far as you would need to go. As I began by saying, a compromise is called for. Not a sacrifice. Not an act of martyrdom. Just a willingness to take a less extreme position in response to the conciliatory gesture that someone is about to make. Be gracious.
