Part I

In 2010 Saturn will return to Virgo and repeat the opposition to Uranus that often made life so difficult last year. This time though, it will bring a change you have long been hoping for. You have been tantalisingly close to a big opportunity. Each time you get near it though, you have to retreat. You're beginning to think you may be banging your head against a brick wall. Really though, you have got no option to give up. This year, you will revisit something that has foxed you in the past and this time, you will beat it. The upshot will be a year that gets more rewarding, comforting and enjoyable with each day. Mercury, the ruler of your sign, will spend an extraordinarily long time in Libra between July and October. This will greatly support your endeavour to make sense of all that has been confusing and as this arises so soon after your great Saturn/Uranus breakthrough, we have to see it as more than coincidence. You are coming into a time of strength. In your personal and emotional life too, you'll soon see how you can deepen important bonds and experience much real warmth. Surprisingly soon you'll feel far better about who you are and where you are going. That sense of improvement will stay with you all year long.

According to tradition, each zodiac sign is 'ruled' by a planet. An astrologer who wants to know what's happening to a sign must look to see where the ruler is. What part of the sky is it in? What alignments is it making? I offer this lesson in astrology, partly because I know you have insatiable curiosity but mainly because I need to explain why I'm so excited, on your behalf, about this year's movements of Mercury. Though Mercury rules Virgo, it isn't always IN Virgo. Once a year, it visits. You're lucky, normally, if that visit lasts four weeks. In 2010 though, Mercury is in Virgo from late July to early October. If you think this forecast, so far, has been a bit heavy on 'education', just wait till those months arrive. Expect lessons that lead to revelations. Expect, too, to breathe a huge sigh of relief when, in late July, just before Mercury arrives in Virgo, Saturn leaves it. A saga that has involved nearly three years of strife leaves your life too, around this time. Will you enjoy this year? Maybe, mostly, up until July. From August onwards though, you'll do far more than enjoy it. You'll love it.
